Computational Poetics Studio is a critical making speculative design studio focused on the practice of text-based computing. Their focus is on teaching the long history of using computer instruction and protocol code as material to meditate on what ritual forms might take in a digitally-driven society. My role is to help display the digital art of its students to invite members of the public to join and engage with the studio.
Computational Poetics Studio values conceptual research and cohesive choreography when presenting work. By focusing on the studio's core values, I was able to build an immersive online exhibition that provides context for students' work and displays unity between each project.
Each space includes an anonymous discussion thread to facilitate thoughtful discussion while mimicking social interactions within an in-person exhibition.
To help communicate their values and students' work to the public, I felt it was necessary to present work in real spaces and provide additional information on the studio's leadership.
To complement the experience, I created a dedicated section on the website to learn more about archived projects over the years.
